1996-2002 Z3
For the 1996 model year, BMW introduced the Z3 to North American buyers. At first it was only available with a 1.9L inline 4 engine, but shortly thereafter was given the traditional BMW inline 6 treatment, with engines ranging in size from 2.5L, all the way up to 3.2L. In 1998 the M Roadster was added to the lineup, and in 1999 the famous Coupe, aka "Clownshoe" version became available.
