The "8V" generation of Audi's A3 line debuted for the 2015 model year in the US. During this generation, the A3 was available in sedan, wagon (Sportback) and convertible body styles. The more potent S3 variant shares its 2.0 liter turbo engine, DSG transmission and all wheel drive system with the Mk7 Golf R. The top of the line RS3 has even more performance built in, with a 400hp 2.5 liter turbo five cylinder engine, among other significant upgrades.
