2015-2021 Mk7 GTI / Golf R
The 7th Generation (Mk7) of Volkswagen's GTI was available in the the US from the 2015-2021 model years. It was offered here as both a 2dr and 4dr hatchback. Power comes from a turbocharged 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine and was routed to the wheels via either a 6 speed manual transmission or a dual clutch (DSG) transmission. For the 2018 model year it received a mid-cycle refresh, with 2018-2021 models being commonly referred to as Mk7.5's.
The Golf R featured a more potent version of the 2.0 liter, along with Haldex All Wheel Drive system, and was available for the 2015-2019 model years.
