Functionality:

Removed from a 2013 E88 BMW 135i Convertible. Removed from a running and driving car, so this motor was able to be fully driven and tested before removal. 

** During testing we found the engine to have lower compression results caused by a faulty Valvetronic system. All six cylinders had compression test results of 100-105psi with no major variability. We also performed a cylinder leak down test with <5% leak down in each cylinder. You will need to have the Valvetronic components addressed by a professional prior to engine installation. ** 

The engine had some oil residue leaking from the turbo drain line during testing. We suggest changing this gasket, and any other easy to access seal while the engine is removed from the vehicle. Oil and fluids have been drained with no abnormalities. Ships drained of all fluids.

The factory turbocharger made correct boost pressure during testing with no internal leaks or damage. The compressor assembly had no excessive play or movement in the bearings.

Physical Condition:

Includes everything as pictured, nothing less, nothing more. Includes the engine long block, oil pan, crank pulley, water pump, AC compressor, Alternator, exhaust manifold, turbocharger, oil filter housing, intake manifold, throttle body, coil packs, injectors, and wiring harness as shown. The factory power steering pump pulley was removed due to cracking in the plastic belt guide. You will need to replace this pulley prior to use. This does NOT include the factory ECU module, which mounts on the underside of the intake manifold. There will be some components and hardware you will need to reuse from your existing vehicle.

Fitment Notes:

This engine was removed from a 2013 model year 135i Convertible with the DCT Automatic transmission. The engine components were slightly changed for models produced after 07/2010. This engine long block may fit other 135i models or other BMW models equipped with the N55B30A engine code, however there may be some various accessories, lines, wiring, sensors, and components that will need to be transferred over from your existing engine to complete the swap. Please do your research regarding this necessary changes prior to purchase.
