Description
2000-2002 Porsche 986 Boxster S 3.2l Engine Long Block / M96.21
Donor Car:
2002 Porsche 986 Boxster S 3.2l - 95K
Functionality:
Removed from a running and driving car, fully tested prior to dismantling. Engine idles smoothly at 750 rpm with no smoking upon startup or hesitations when revving. We have compression tested this engine with good results (driver side : 170-160-165 / Passenger Side : 170-175-170). The engine had some oil residue at both valve cover gaskets and rear main seals. It is recommended to service any other easy to access seals while the engine is removed from the vehicle. Oil and coolant have been drained with no abnormalities. Will ship drained of all fluids.
Physical Condition:
In good physical condition, Engine block has not been hit or cracked in any way. Free off any major surface rusting or corrosion. The exhaust manifold studs typically rust and sieze due to the extreme heat. We were able to remove all exhaust studs with no damage. You will need to source new exhaust studs for installation. The original IMS bearing has been replaced with an aftermarket unit as shown.
Includes the engine long block, cylinder heads, oil pan, crank pulley, water pump, alternator, AC compressor, Power steering pump, intake manifold, throttle body, wiring harness, fuel rails, injectors, coil packs, and starter motor as shown. You will need to reuse some of your existing hardware and components for installation.
Fits:
2000, 2001, 2002 Porsche 986 Boxster S 3.2l
Fitment Notes:
Removed from a 2001 Porsche 986 Boxster S with the manual transmission. This engine will physically fit vehicles with the automatic transmissions, however there may be some differences such as wiring and sensors that will need to be swapped over from your old engine.
Engine code - M96.21
